Colonial Williamsburg

Life in Early America

Ever wondered what it was like to live back in the early days of America? What did the people look like, what were the issues of that time period and how did America take its shape? Take a trip to Colonial Williamsburg to find the answers. Visiting Williamsburg is like taking a literal step back into the world of colonial America.

Approximately 45 minutes from Virginia Beach, Williamsburg is an experience your whole family will remember. Unlike most museums or historic places you visit where you only get to see history through artifacts and documents, in Williamsburg you get to live and see it first hand.

Everyone in the family will enjoy seeing the people living and working in Colonial Williamsburg. People dressed in period costumes stroll the streets, where the homes and shops look just like they did during the colonial time period. They are run just like they were on the eve of the Revolution. Events and activities geared towards the seasons and special events for children make it something all ages in the family will enjoy. Hands-on fun brings history alive to kids and has them hungering for more.
