Pungo Strawberry Festival

Strawberry Season

There is nothing like the fresh taste of ripe juicy strawberries come springtime. And if this is when you plan on being in Virginia Beach then you will not want to miss the Pungo Strawberry Festival. Held every year around Memorial Day week-end it’s a seasonal highlight that tourists and natives do not miss.

The Festival is an event for the whole family. Food fun and fellowship are plentiful. There are all kinds of activities for the kids and there is usually a carnival type midway going on where the kids can ride to their hearts content.  Pony rides, 4-H displays and many other fun booths are set up for this one of a kind event. Craft booths offer an abundance of hand crafted items for you to take home and enjoy or give as gifts.

Strawberries in Every Form

Did we mention the fantastic food booths? Strawberries in every shape and form, shortcakes, jellies, jam, tarts, you name it, abound. You will find many other delicious foods, filling the air with their smells and flavors of good cooking. Your mouth will be watering and your stomach will be groaning for mercy by the end of the evening.

Local Talent

Local groups add music to the festivities. Everything from beach music to country is present for your enjoyment. Toe tapping fun adds a festive air to this unique outing. This is one event you will find yourself returning to year after year
