Getting Back to Nature

If you enjoy nature there are places to camp and hike like Seashore State Park. Camping, fishing, boating, crabbing and swimming are readily available. The ocean front, of course, offers the best in swimming and lounging around on the beach soaking up the sun. You can also check out the flora and fauna of the area by visiting the Virginia Marine Science Museum or the Virginia Zoo and enjoying the many critters and sea life that are to be seen there.

Historical Happenings

If history is what you like best, then again, you have come to the perfect place. Virginia Beach and the surrounding areas are filled with the history of times past. You can see the place where colonists first set foot at First Cross Landing, and take in the Cape Henry Lighthouses all in one trip. Visit the many historic houses that fill the area or take a real trip back into time at Colonial Williamsburg.

Science & the Military

When you have had enough of the wonderful historic sites then you can move on to the science and military places around the area. The Virginia Air and Space Center or Oceana Naval Base await your exploration. Here you can see amazing aircraft and space displays. Learn about the life of General MacArthur at the MacArthur Memorial and visit the POW/MIA memorial.

Theme parks are available for a day of fun too. Ocean Breeze Water Park is the only place to spend the day cooling off and Busch Gardens is a trip back into Old World Germany.
